WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN IN VOLUME 3

In volumes 2 and 3 students are encouraged to begin taking more responsibility for their practice and progress.  All volumes are packed with motivation and musical understanding.  Self-reliance and industry are encouraged and valued. •  The music history survey begun in volume 2 is continued as the student studies the historical events and musical trends of romantic and 20th century music.  Twelve tone row, chance music, chromatic harmony, tone color, the use of resolved and unresolved dissonance, performance styles of the great pianist, three principles of dealing with performance anxiety and much more is discussed in addition to composer biographies. •  Studies in harmony continue with The Magic of Inner Hearing. •   Many teachers report that their students who have completed the volumes up to this point have a greater determination and willingness to excel.  This volume includes 24 lessons (6 months of work).
