What Can I Learn in Volume 3?
In volumes 2 and 3 you are encouraged to continue taking responsibility for your practice and progress. As you take greater responsibility for your learning, the speed in which you learn will increase. You also will study how the brain works, so you can make choices on how to learn most efficiently. All volumes are packed with musical understanding and encouragement to develop the characteristics of people who achieve excellence. Self-reliance, initiative and industry are keys to success.
The music history lessons begun in Volume 2 are continued as the historical events and musical trends of the Romantic and 20th Century time periods are studied. Twelve tone row, chance music, chromatic harmony, tone color, the use of resolved and unresolved dissonance, performance styles of the great pianists, three principles of dealing with performance anxiety and much more is discussed in addition to composer biographies. In The Magic of Inner Hearing, studies in harmony continue.
